5 Best Online Business Tools for Teacherpreneurs

When you’re looking to try a flexible job in education, you may find that you’re actually becoming an entrepreneur (surprise!). If you’re new to starting a business, the process can be daunting. One of the simplest ways to make the process easier? By making sure you have the best online business tools for teacherpreneurs.

In my own journey to starting an education business, I’ve found that teaching is great preparation for entrepreneurship. Teachers are used to coming up with innovative solutions to problems, using data to inform decisions and planning projects that make an impact. These teaching skills are all key entrepreneurial skills.

But when moving from classroom teaching to teacherpreneurship, it can be easy to get overwhelmed with all the things there are to learn. Whether you want to create your own curriculum, start an online teaching business, or coach teachers, the right online business tools can make all the difference.

Over the years, I’ve tried many different tech tools for teacher entrepreneurs and find myself coming back to the same ones again and again in my own business. These tools make it easy to connect with your ideal clients, get your message out there, and start growing the education business of your dreams.

Here are my recommendations for the five best online business tools for teacherpreneurs!

My Picks: Best Online Business Tools for Teacherpreneurs

Best Online Graphic Design Tool: Canva

Whether you want to create pretty downloads, logos, or social media posts, Canva will become one of your favorite sites. You can design your own graphics and/or use some of their many templates to create swoon-worthy images for all your teacherpreneurship endeavors.

Use it to create marketing materials, branding for your business, or all sorts of visually appealing products. It is truly intuitive— and addicting— making it a must-have for any business.

Best Online Course Platform: Kajabi

Teachers are the best people to create online courses. We already know how to plan lessons, design units, and create engaging learning experiences. I’ve tried several online course platforms, but my very favorite is Kajabi.

Not only can you design and host online teacherpreneur courses and memberships on Kajabi, but you can also use it to build your email list, create a website, host podcasts, and more. They add more features all the time and are a great one-stop service for anyone looking to start an online course or program.

Best Email Marketing Platform: ConvertKit

While Kajabi offers an email service, my favorite email service provider for teacher entrepreneurs is ConvertKit. An email marketing platform is one of the best online business tools out there. ConvertKit has all the tools you need to build your email list (an essential part of building an education business).

You can design landing and host landing pages on ConvertKit, so you can share offerings before you even have a website ready to go. Through ConvertKit, you can segment your email subscribers into groups based on their interests, wants, and needs. This makes it easy for you to personalize and target your interactions with your audience.

Best Online Webinar Platform: Demio

Want to host online webinars or workshops? Demio is my favorite online webinar platform. They make it easy to set up a webinar and have options for hosting both live and recorded webinars. They automatically record your live classes and give great data on who showed up, participated, and expressed interest in your offerings. I’ve also used many different webinar platforms and find Demio to be the most user-friendly from both the presenter and the attendee side.

Best Online Business Tools For Project Management: Google Workspace

There are lots of fancy project management tools out there, but I still find myself going back to Google sheets and other Google Workspace tools again and again. With solid organization, Google docs, folders, sheets, and forms can be a great way to organize the content you create.

You can also use Google Workspace to set up a custom email address for your teacherpreneur business (that ends @yourcompany) and get your email through Google, making it look and act just like Gmail.

Getting Started As a Teacherpreneur

Becoming a successful teacherpreneur takes more than just getting the best online business tools.
