Grammarly

This may not seem like it should be on a list of online resources for teachers, but I don’t think I could write anything without Grammarly! Use this free plug-in to catch any grammar or spelling mistakes you might make when writing. It will even give you recommendations for making your writing clearer— a huge plus when working on curriculum projects!

Student-Centered Resources

Empatico

If you’re in the classroom and want to provide meaningful learning opportunities to deepen students’ worldview and social-emotional learning (SEL), check out this free platform that matches and connects K-8 classrooms across the world. We love how it connects classrooms as virtual pen pals in meaningful ways (with live video exchanges and SEL content)! It’s this connection-building that makes Empatico one of our favorite online resources for teachers.

In our work, we seek to build bridges that circumvent systemic barriers and societal beliefs surrounding autism and neurodiversity, leading to equity and belonging. This is one of the best online teacher resources for anyone who wants to create a more inclusive curriculum and better serve students.

National Geographic Courses

Enjoy connecting with a global community of educators and enhance your teaching with National Geographic’s free online courses for educators.

EduCreations

EduCreations allows teachers to create short video tutorials to assist students. The nice thing is how easy they are to create and keep track of! For students with visual learning styles or neurodiverse learners, this can be a great source of added support. It’s also a handy resource for parents. Seriously, remember virtual learning during the pandemic? Trying to navigate Canvas for the first few times could have been so much easier with this!

Teacher Stamps

We love this little set of stamps for teachers to use when grading student work! They’re cute, encouraging, and resonate with a relational teaching style.

Job Search Websites & Resources for Teachers

Airtable

While this tool may not have been designed as an online resource for teachers, there are so many great applications for this tool in the education field.

Our favorite way to use Airtable is to go beyond a spreadsheet and keep track of your job search. There are so many things that Airtable can do, but its visual layout can be really helpful when researching potential places you’d like to work, keeping track of jobs that you’ve applied to, and preparing for interviews. You can sign up for their free version to play around and see what works best for you.

LinkedIn

Take advantage of LinkedIn to build your network, make connections, and apply for flexible jobs in education. Think of LinkedIn as a place where you can explore the next stage of your education career.

Think about what you want to be known for, how you can communicate that, and what connections you can build to set yourself up for success in the next chapter of your career. Be sure to read this blog post about how to use LinkedIn for networking.
